“天街小雨润如酥,草色遥看近却无。最是一年春好处,绝胜烟柳满皇都。”古诗中描绘的画面令人陶醉和神往。又是一年春风至，近来晴朗的天气使我们大家的心情变得轻松和愉悦，倘若能天天生活在这如画的环境之中，无疑是一种美的享受。

    但是事情总是不尽如人意的，正如大家所见，随着人类社会的发展，全球的环境质量也在进一步的恶化之中。这事关我们每一个人，所以我们是时候开始有所行动来保护我们共有的家园，以免在未来的某一天为我们今日所为而抱憾终身。这看起来像是老生常谈，但环境问题永远都不能被我们忽视。

    我们大家共有的家园，曾经环境优美，舒适宜人的北京，现在却和雾霾环境污染画上了等号，让人谈京色变。无需多言，相信大家多少都曾遭受过由于雾霾而带来的种种不便，也都意识到了保护环境的迫切性和必要性。那么今天我就来谈一谈我们自己能为北京的环境改善做些什么。

    想要解决环境问题必须要从问题的根源入手。政府和我们普通人要协同合作共筑我们美好的家园。

说起空气污染，大家脑海中首先想到的肯定是汽车尾气的排放。没错，据调查在本地污染贡献中，机动车排放比例最高，达31.1%，并且这些污染物会在天空中滞留长达三四天之久。可见这成为了解决问题的重中之重。中国曾经被誉为“自行车的王国”，但随着人们生活水平的提高，小轿车逐渐取代了自行车的地位。汽车的方便和快捷加速了自行车王国的衰落。但最近，共享单车，这种新的出行方式风靡全国，它的出现再次引起了人们对于自行车的关注。虽然其现在仍具有很大的争议性，但它也不失为一个缓解交通压力的好方式。此外我认为这可能是对于我们普通人来讲最具可行性的保护环境的方式之一。现在大街小巷随处可见这种小黄车，越来越多的人也开始尝试并接受这种出行方式，但自行车毕竟不能取代汽车的位置，所以电动车的出现可以弥补这一空缺。现在上路的汽车中大部分仍是传统燃油汽车，电动汽车占极少的一部分，这主要是因为电动车的基础设施建设尚不完善,但大家也不要对电动汽车产业的未来持一种悲观的态度。现在传统能源汽车向纯电动车之间的过渡和曾经的非智能机向智能手机的过渡很像，开始价格昂贵的智能手机现在几乎人手一部。所以只要我们抓住事物的主要矛盾，问题就可以得到改善。

    电池成本可以说是纯电动汽车最主要的成本，但它现在已从2010的1000美元/kwh降到了2016年行业平均227美元/kwh。未来随着电池技术的突破，继续下降接近传统能源汽车甚至低于传统能源汽车都是可能的。我相信在不远的将来，绿色出行将成为外出的主流方式。

    其实环境保护更应该注意我们身边的细节，从小事做起才能铸就伟大。如我们学校成立的星援志愿者服务队由同学自发参与到环境保护中来，制作环保宣传海报和小贴士来督促大家，提高同学们的环保意识，将垃圾有效的分类和回收并将此项收入贡献给慈善机构，让学校的每一个人在切实的为环境保护贡献出自己的一份力的同时也成为爱的播种者。这看起来好像微乎其微但我认为正是这种潜移默化的影响才能让环保意识植根于人们的心中继而影响周围的人乃至下一代人。

    所以，我们能做的事情有很多，不要一提到环境保护就把他想象的多么宏达和遥远好像和自己没什么关系，其实恰恰相反，他是我们每一个人都要关心和付诸努力的事。

Deeds are better than words

Ladies and gentlemen! Good morning.

  Before my speech, let’s picture this: The moon look down from the sky behind the clouds as the stars blink their eyes in fatigue. Only the firefly is still awake, carefully weaving a picture in the night sky with their gentle strokes. How amazing it is! I believe all of us want to live in a beautiful and peaceful place like this, while what’s happening on the world is slowly ruining it.

  As we all know, with the rapid development of science and technology, our environment is getting worse and worse. For us, there is no time to waste to do something practical and meaningful. Whilst this might sound like a truism, it is nevertheless a crucial problem to address.

  Beijing, our hometown, which used to be a hospitable place with clean air and premium water, now is always associated with smog and pollution. I think everyone has been suffered from the heavy traffic, diseases or something inconvenience caused by the pollution more or less. It’s unnecessary to go into details about the importance of the environmental protection.

  Personally I think，to deal with the problem at its source, the government, as well as ordinary people should take actions to make some contributions. And today I just take one thing for example.

  It’s reported that vehicle emissions contribute to 33.1 percent of air pollution in Beijing, and these pollutants usually stay in the air for three to four days. So it is clear that this is the major problem for us to reduce pollution from cars. China was once known as the kingdom of bicycles.

  However, with improvements of people's livelihood, people tend to take pride in owning cars, because people think owning a car in China is a status symbol. Additionally, bicycles have fallen out of favor with many people because of long daily commutes. Recently, bike-share program are attracting public’s attention, drawing a growing number of people travelling by bike, such as Ofo and Mobike. Although it is the controversial question, which has aroused quite a few problems，it would be a good decision to alleviate the increasing traffic pressure. What’s more, I think it is the most feasible way to help improve the environment for ordinary people. After all, bicycles cannot substitute for cars. But the coming of the electric cars may make up for it. In fact, the cars with a petrol engine still have absolute predominance in our life. Mainly it is because the infrastructure construction of electric cars is far from perfect. But we don’t have to be pessimistic about the future of EV. The battery cost is the most important part of the cost of an EV, while the price have fallen quickly since2010. As these trends continue, I believe the public transportation may be the major way to travel in the future.

  For us students, we have already realized that we should pay more attention to the trifles in our lives, because we all know the devil is in the details. For instance, we have organized a volunteer team named Xingyuan. We make posters and tips to remind people around us to take care of the environment all the time. And what makes me feel proud is that we donate the money which comes from the campaign of the classified garbage recovery. Someone may think that what we are doing doesn't contribute a lot to the environment, but we really have done something that help arouse the awareness of environmental protection and that's the most important part. Environmental awareness was non-existent three decades ago. Thus it can be seen that the importance of the propaganda work. When the awareness roots deeply in people's mind, we can take care of our home from the bottom of our hearts.

  We can see there are lots of things we can do to devote ourselves to the environmental protection. So no more complaints, no more shifting responsibilities. Let’s take action now, and we can surely make a difference! Remember: deeds are better than words.
